For so many people, a surprising blessing of this year has been the discovery that a Bikram Yoga practice is entirely portable. Every time you get on your mat at home, you remind yourself that, no matter how much else has changed, you hold the keys to your physical and mental wellbeing. Regardless of access to a hot room. Keep reading below, and check out FAQ Here. We've worked hard this year to keep Home going, guided by our vision of happy, healthy people lovingly connected to themselves, each other and the world.
In order to continue, the time has come for us to stop paying rent and expenses on a studio we are not allowed to fill. Only when we do that, can we focus our energy and resources on connecting you with the benefits of Bikram Yoga and a yoga community, in the place where it needs to happen for now: the interwebs! That's why Home Hot Yoga will not be reopening our brick and mortar location after the current shutdown. Instead, we will keep our classes and community completely online. Practicing Bikram Yoga, we've learned to try the right way- even when it's hard. We know this way is right. And it is definitely hard, because it involves letting go of a place which has brought us so much happiness. So we are giving ourselves permission to be sad. Please also give yourself permission to be sad. This is sad! And it will be OK. Your yoga practice doesn’t depend on a hot room. The skills you’ve learned are yours to keep forever. The friends you made at yoga are still your friends. Home is wherever you are. We know you may have questions! Click here for FAQ, and of course feel free to reach out if there’s anything else you’d like to know. We miss you. We love you. And we’ll see you soon- online!

Here we are again, yogis. Oof. Governor Brown announced Friday, November 13 (lucky, right?) that Multnomah County will begin a temporary "freeze" for a minimum of 4 weeks, which involves shutting down many small businesses including ours. (But malls and churches can be open?? Hm. That's another blog post though.) This is a big bummer for everyone- AND we will be here for you. Check out all the details below! When are you closing and when will you re-open?
As of November 18 we closed for in-person classes for a minimum of 4 weeks, per the Governor's mandate. Join us for Virtual Bikram Yoga classes on Zoom or in our extensive on-demand library! As for reopening, we just don't know right now. We will keep you posted as we get closer to the end of the initial 4 weeks. Can I practice at home even without the heat? YES. The Bikram Yoga sequence of postures and breathing exercises is powerful, even without the heat. (Though adding some heat sure helps.) We created this whole "DIY Hot Room" guide to help you make the most of the space you've got at (your) home. It ain’t the same as being in a class at Home, of course- but it is waaay better than nothing! Be gentler and very mindful with your practice, since you won’t have the full-on heat to keep you stretchy. Maybe I should just wait until the studio is open again? NOPE. Firstly, that could be months. You deserve to feel yoga-good now, not "later." Continuing your yoga during this time will help keep your stress levels low, your nervous system calm, your immune system kicking butt- and also maintain the strength, flexibility and balance you have worked so hard to build here at the studio! Check out this video for tips on creating a safe hot(ish) space for home practice. What about my membership? We understand if you need to make a change to your membership at this time. To make a change, email [email protected]. Thank you for your patience as it may take us longer than usual to respond. If you are a current member, you should have received additional instructions for accessing online classes via email. Please be sure to add us to your email contacts so you stay up to date! How do I access online classes? If you have a HHY Membership or a subscription to HHY To Go, you've already got what you need to access all our online offerings HERE. If you have another pass or don't know how to access HHYTG, email us and we'll hook you up! This sucks. What can I do to help?
